As a person who is never content with the way things are, it has always been very frustrating to hear the infamous saying “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” or “It’s just the way it is.”
Over the years, I have formed startups, led projects and programs in matrix environments, and delivered many products and services in various industries such as international human resources, study-abroad educational programs, and international business of all sorts such as IT products, travel, pharmaceutical products, food and beverage industry, consulting, etc.
My hands-on experience in leading and managing a wide variety of projects, programs, products, and people as well as active engagements with C-suite stakeholders, blue-collar workers and everyone in between has equipped me with the ability to effortlessly communicate and collaborate cross-culturally with people of all positions to tirelessly deliver ambitious goals and continuous improvements.
At the age of 16, I discovered the power of data and data-based decision making. I started strategizing based on data and immediately the benefits were apparent. I started using digital and physical surveys, diving into the internet for demographic and geographic data provided by different governmental and nonprofit organizations to understand the correlations among different factors. For example, while working on a project for study-abroad programs, I dived into data and discovered that it was the mothers (not fathers) between the age of 40-50 who were most likely to search for and make decisions for their sons (more than daughters) to study abroad. As a result, we heavily targeted them and designed programs with their feedbacks.
When Facebook launched its ad features I was 18 and I became an early adopter. Immediately, on behalf of companies whose projects I took on, I began targeting different specific customer segments on the platform and provided in depth details back to my employers and assisted them to design products and services accordingly. Google analytics and Google Ads have been invaluable tools that I started utilizing in 2007 which pair up perfectly with Facebook as Google and Facebook ads allow us to direct traffic to our company websites and Google Analytics and Facebook backend analytical program makes deep dive analytics possible.
As time went on, I learned through my international experience that language abilities can truly make a difference if one aspires to properly understand different cultures, build meaningful relationships, and successfully achieve professional goals. Fortunately, I have been blessed with the opportunity to learn to speak English, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, and Taiwanese fluently.
As a 32 year-old who has satisfied the urge to explore the world, I am now looking to utilize my unique background, experiences and leadership abilities to get things done and make a real difference in the world by dedicating myself to a great company to lead and collaborate with cross-functionally to deliver results.
